Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical First Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during procedures, ensuring patient safety, and providing high-quality care throughout the surgical process. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care protocols, and surgical procedures. This is a salaried, day shift role with competitive starting pay. Requirements Certification as a Surgical First Assistant or ability to obtain certification prior to hire. Kentucky licensure through the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure will need to be acquired and held prior to start date. Previous experience working in General/OB-GYN (including robotic), ENT, Orthopedic, and/or Neurological Surgery. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and medical-surgical procedures. Experience with infection control practices. Familiarity with electronic health records systems. Strong analytical skills to assess patient conditions and assist in decision-making processes. Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams. We provide services for the following: General , ENT, Podiatry, OB-Gyn, Neuro, Ortho, and Bariatric. The facility is equipped with 11 OR suites in the main hospital and a nearby surgery center. We are proud to work with state of the art equipment such as: DaVinci, Mazor, Olympus 3D Exoscope, ROSA, and much more. Our facility has earned many "first" awards for completing new cutting-edge surgical procedures in the state of Kentucky. Employment Model & Billing Responsibility In this role, you will be hired as a W-2 employee through a contracted medical group that partners with the hospital. As such, you will not be responsible for billing or collecting payments from patients. All billing and administrative functions are managed by the group . This structure allows you to concentrate fully on providing excellent patient care without the burden of financial administration.
