From preoperative tasks to maintaining sterile environments, your expertise ensures smooth operations. You will engage in strategic discussions with the provider, monitor patient status, and handle advanced equipment with finesse. What You ll Do As a Periodontal Surgical Assistant , you will play a vital role in supporting our periodontist and clinical team throughout surgical and nonsurgical periodontal procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the periodontist during periodontal and implant procedures Performing preoperative and postoperative patient care duties Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining a sterile clinical environment Supporting an unobstructed operative field using suction, retractors, and irrigation Preparing, inspecting, and sterilizing instruments and equipment Obtaining and processing dental radiographs and imaging as needed Monitoring patient comfort and status during procedures Reviewing postoperative instructions and reinforcing care guidance with patients Completing accurate clinical documentation and patient narratives Coordinating supplies and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations Supporting additional clinical responsibilities as assigned What You ll Bring Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in the state of Massachusetts (required) Massachusetts Dental Radiology Certification (required) Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire) Strong attention to detail with a focus on patient safety and infection control Excellent manual dexterity and clinical precision Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced periodontal setting Professional, calm, and compassionate demeanor with patients Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills Basic computer proficiency and comfort with clinical documentation Preferred Qualifications Prior periodontal or surgical dental assisting experience DAANCE certification is a plus Licensed dental assistant experience in specialty practice preferred What We Offer We are committed to supporting your personal and professional well‑being with a competitive benefits package, including: Competitive Pay, Bonus potential, annual merit reviews Health, dental, vision and life insurance with HSA option Paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, and Paid Parental Leave 401(k) with company match Short- and Long- Term Disability FIGS Uniforms/Scrubs provided BLS/CPR Certification Employee Assistance Program Back Bay Periodontics & Dental Implants is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
