Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oral Surgery/Periodontal Surgery Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate has dental assisting experience, preferably in oral surgery or periodontal procedures. This is a great opportunity to work closely with experienced surgeons while providing excellent patient care in a professional, fast-paced environment. The assistant will help support surgical procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of safety and infection control. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and surgical materials for procedures. Sterilize and maintain equipment according to infection control standards. Monitor inventory of surgical supplies. Assist the oral surgeon or periodontist during procedures by passing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear working area. Expose dental X-rays and 3D scans as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate patient records in Open Dental while following HIPAA guidelines. Monitor patient comfort and vital signs during procedures. Provide patients with post-operative instructions and follow-up care information. Work closely with the dental team and front desk to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling. Skills & Qualifications Experience in dental assisting, preferably chairside surgical assisting. DAANCE is NOT required, however if after hire there is a desire to achieve this certification, the office will assist you. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and oral surgery/periodontal procedures. Experience with dental imaging, including X-rays and 3D scanners. Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to help patients feel comfortable and supported during treatment. Pay:
