Job Description

Exam Room Assistant
Position:
Exam Room AssistantPay:
$16.00 - $17.25 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
AM and PM shifts required
Status:
Full-time (30+ hours/week) eligible for benefits
Environment:
Fast-paced clinical settingWe are seeking a motivated, dependable Exam Room Assistant to join our veterinary team. This role works closely with a doctor and a Patient Care Assistant to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent client service in a busy exam room environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with clients and patients in a fast-paced setting
  • Review daily appointments with the doctor and Patient Care Assistant
  • Obtain brief patient histories and temperatures
  • Safely and confidently restrain patients when necessary
  • Assist the doctor during exams and procedures
  • Maintain the flow of the day and keep the team on schedule
  • Communicate professionally with clients, both in person and by phone
  • Make doctor call-backs as needed
  • Call prescriptions into pharmacies
  • Prepare and make medications
  • Remain on your feet for most of the shift Qualifications
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable handling and restraining patients safely
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift and assist patients as needed
  • Knowledge of medications or willingness to learn quickly
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of responsibility
