Reporting to an Acute Care Nurse Manager/Director , the RN Shift Unit Supervisor receives strong support from clinical educators, informatics specialists, and unit-based councils while collaborating closely with a friendly team of nurses and a diverse group of healthcare professionals—pharmacy, PT/OT, respiratory therapy, case management, social work, and hospitalists. As an Acute Care Supervisor RN, core responsibilities include coordinating assignments, mentoring preceptors, advancing safety and quality initiatives, optimizing admissions and discharges, elevating patient experience, and reinforcing evidence-based standards. As an RN Shift Unit Supervisor, the role also fosters teamwork, supports new-graduate integration, and helps shape unit strategy and performance.
