Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Take the next step in your surgical nursing career as a Certified Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician. This contract opportunity is designed for professionals with substantial operating room experience and certified training, looking to make a meaningful impact in a high-volume surgical environment.
Schedule & Hours:

Orientation:
Five 8-hour shifts (facility and unit-specific training)
Qualifications & Required Experience:
At least 2 years of operating room experience in your specialty (RN, CST, CVOR
RN, CVOR CST
)
Surgical Techs:
BLS certification and completion of an accredited Surgical Tech education program prior to start; national certification preferred Extensive hands-on skills in scrubbing a broad range of cases: orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, general, urology, robotic, GYN, colon, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastics
CVOR Techs:
Demonstrated expertise in CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic cases strongly preferred Open to first-time travelers meeting all other requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Scrub and assist in diverse procedures including orthopedic and spine surgeries, thoracic and cardiovascular cases, general surgery, urology, breast, GYN, plastics, podiatry, and advanced robotic procedures Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including OR assistants, anesthesia, charge nurses, and reception staff Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures Accurately document patient care in EPIC and manage equipment using Alaris pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors Take part in specialized unit-specific orientation to ensure seamless integration into the surgical services team
