Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician (ORT) to contribute expertise in a dynamic, high-volume surgical department. This contract opportunity offers hands-on involvement with complex surgical procedures across a broad range of specialties, supporting a surgical suite that averages 45 cases per day with 13 operating rooms and a dedicated procedure/cysto room.
Schedule/Hours:
Orientation is structured as five 8-hour shifts, with Main OR requiring 1 week and CVOR requiring 2 weeks. Flexible scheduling and management support during orientation.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years' recent operating room experience in the desired specialty (RN, CST, CVOR
RN, CVOR CST
). Current BLS certification. Surgical Technologists must have completed an accredited program. National certification highly preferred. Proficiency in scrubbing a wide range of cases: Orthopedic, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, General, Urology, Robotic, GYN, Colon, Breast, Spine, Podiatry, and Plastics. Exceptional skill in orthopedic procedures and, for CVOR techs, strong, current practice in CABG, TAVR, Vascular, and Thoracic cases. Open to experienced providers and first-time travelers.
Role Responsibilities:
Scrub and assist on diverse surgical cases including orthopedic, robotic, cardiac, general, and vascular surgeries. Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment. Collaborate closely with OR assistants, charge nurses, anesthesia providers, and other ancillary staff. Support patient positioning, room turnover, and inventory. Utilize advanced technology, including EPIC EMR, Alaris pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing.
