Job Description
Rothman Orthopaedics is looking for an Athletic Trainer to join our team as a Surgical Clinical Assistant ! The Surgical Clinical Assistant (SCA) is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) that aids the Physician and Physician's Assistant with daily administrative and clinical duties. Responsibilities include assisting with post-op suture and staple removal, post-op wound care, pre-admissions testing orders, responding to patient calls and messages, and more. If you are qualified for and interested in this role, please apply. Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room. Directs patient to surgery scheduling and/or front desk for checkout. Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room, and prepares exam room for patients to enter. Cleans and autoclaves instruments. Provides and scans proper paperwork to the chart for Physician's review. Records vitals as per Physician's request. Prepares injections for the Physician. Pulls up x-rays, MRI's, CT's, and various studies pertaining to the patient's exam. Assists patient with clothing when necessary. Disposes of biohazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation and replaces sharps containers when existing containers are full. Answers telephones in patient areas and provides voicemail coverage for Physician. Requests reports for various facilities for Physicians. Empties and restocks laundry. Scans appointment tracking to identify when patients are ready to be seen by the Physician and directs Physician in patient appointment order. Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports, dictations, and studies are present in the chart. Completes pre-certifications for MRI's and other Physician orders as necessary. Send Visco Injection authorization request to supplement pre-certification representative. Scans information into patient record (including all Physician orders, prescriptions, etc. on the date of service). Covers other areas in the office when not assigned to a Physician. Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested. Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Qualifications:
Must have active, valid BOC certification Must have active, valid NJ Athletic Training license Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite Experience with EMR system(s) preferred High school diploma or GED minimum education requirementOffice Hours:
