Overview We are seeking a dedicated Mohs Surgical Assistant to support our dermatologic surgery team in delivering exceptional skin cancer treatments. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, and a passion for patient care. Responsibilities Assist the dermatologist during Mohs micrographic surgery procedures. Prepare surgical sites, instruments, and supplies efficiently to facilitate smooth procedural flow. Monitor patient responses, and record relevant medical information throughout the surgical process. Support preoperative assessments and postoperative discharge planning to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, medical records, and surgical notes within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ensure the sterile environment is maintained at all times, following strict infection control standards. Provide patient care by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and assisting with post-procedure instructions. Requirements Prior experience supporting dermatologic or surgical procedures, preferably in a Mohs surgery setting. Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) documentation practices. Proficiency in anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and infection control practices. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications related to acute care or emergency medicine are a plus. Strong analysis skills for evaluating patient vitals and medical data accurately. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care, teamwork, and professionalism in a office setting.
