The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, exceptional leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of perioperative procedures. As an integral part of our team, the Operating Room Supervisor will ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a collaborative environment. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team committed to excellence in patient care and operational efficiency. Duties Supervise daily operations of the surgical suite, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize workflow and patient safety. Lead and mentor perioperative staff, including nurses, surgical technologists, and support personnel, promoting professional development and team cohesion. Ensure adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols in accordance with hospital policies and CDC guidelines. Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, OSHA, and accreditation standards related to surgical services. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient patient assessments, preoperative preparations, and postoperative care transitions. Monitor inventory levels of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and timely procurement. Implement quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency within the operating room environment. Experience Proven supervisory experience in an operating room setting within a hospital or surgical center. Extensive clinical background in perioperative nursing or surgical technology, with familiarity in various specialties such as orthopedics, cardiovascular surgery, or neurosurgery. Strong knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or Epic for documentation and workflow management. Experience working with complex medical procedures including anesthesia support, catheterization, sterile processing, and airway management. Familiarity with ICD-10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing processes related to surgical procedures. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols essential for maintaining a safe operative environment.
