Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian is hiring a skilled Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant for our Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho.

The certified surgical tech first assist will provide essential support to the surgical team by evaluating and coordinating activities during surgical procedures. Perform pre and post-operative activities to facilitate optimal patient care. Works closely with surgeons in the operating room during a surgical procedure. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and during an operation, assist the surgeon with tasks such as selectingequipment, holding open incisions, stopping bleeding, closing the incision, among other technical tasks. Collaborate with healthcare professionals including anesthesiologists and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities:
Positioning the patient for surgery and aiding with drapingClearing the area where the surgeon will operate and holding open incisions by using tissue retractors, sponges, or operatingsuction or irrigation equipmentSelecting and passing instruments and supplies during an operationStopping bleeding by sponging, clamping, tying, or cauterizing vessels, or suturing tissue layers as directed by the surgeonApplying dressings to surgical woundsCounting sponges, needles, and other materials before and after the operationClosing the incision at the end of the procedureFollow facility protocol and policy as well as other state and federal laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required and completion of an accredited surgical first assistant program. Associates degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience as Surgical Tech. Preferred experience as a CSFA or SA-C in diverse surgical specialties and proficiency with robotic and minimally invasive surgicaltechniques.
Certifications:
Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFSA) or Surgical Assistant-Certified (SA-C) required.

BLS
  • Basic Life Support required.
ACLS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and is accountable for the overall quality of care and clinical outcomes of pediatric surgical patients. This care will be delivered by interdisciplinary team members to assure high quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Manages the physician/patient relationship, working to assure patient and family satisfaction with care.
  • Participate in system-wide health management initiatives.
  • Provide input into the practice site's financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards.
  • Receive and resolve patient complaints.
  • Participate in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.
  • Consults with and advises other providers regarding optimal and cost-effective treatment of pediatric surgery patients.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in services, and workshops.
  • Works to assure patient satisfaction with care.
  • Participates in team and multispecialty group meetings.
  • Provides input into the practice site's financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
  • Oversees and is accountable for the overall quality of care and clinical outcomes within the assigned facilities.
  • Maintain coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and reimbursement level, including legible documentation.
  • Assists in leading the Advanced Practice Clinicians in delivering appropriate patient education/care

Responsibilities:
Presbyterian is looking for an Charge RN for our Cardiac Step Down unit. This unit is comprised of a 38-bed unit committed to the health of our patients by providing the highest level of care using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. The unit provides patient-focused, specialized care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring for various cardiovascular disorders, including cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. Patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary intervention, pacemaker implantation and electrophysiology procedures are also cared for on this unit. Our unit also has approximately 50% regular progressive care-type patients. Cardiac Progressive Unit provides quality care to all its patient populations through a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach. Comprehensive, professional patient care is provided during the inpatient stay, followed by personalized discharge planning to meet outpatient needs.
