Job Description

Adirondack Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (AOMS) is a well-established, privately owned oral surgery practice with three locations throughout the Capital Region of New York. Our board-certified surgeons provide a full scope of oral and maxillofacial procedures, including wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, and sedation services. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care, maintaining a supportive team environment, and building long-lasting relationships with the communities we serve. AOMS is committed to training and developing team members for long-term success in the healthcare and dental fields. Position Summary We are seeking a Full-Time Oral Surgery Assistant who is personable, organized, motivated, and passionate about helping patients. No previous oral surgery experience is required —we will provide hands-on training to the right candidate. This position is ideal for individuals interested in developing a long-term healthcare career. Responsibilities Prepare patients for consultations, surgical procedures, and sedation Obtain and accurately document patient medical histories Provide clear pre- and post-operative patient education Operate radiologic equipment Maintain sterile instruments, equipment, and treatment areas in accordance with OSHA and infection-control standards Support the surgical team in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care Communicate effectively with patients, surgeons, and team members Qualifications Friendly, professional, and engaging personality Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to learn new clinical skills and follow step-by-step instructions Comfortable receiving feedback while acquiring new competencies Reliable, punctual, and team oriented Experience with medical or dental terminology strongly encouraged Software proficiency with Microsoft Office, EMR systems, or healthcare applications (preferred) Previous experience as a dental assistant , medical assistant , or surgical assistant is a plus—but not required Compensation & Benefits $19-$22/hour , based on experience Generous benefits package Paid training and ongoing professional development Supportive and collaborative team culture Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates
