Minimum Job Requirements:
High School Degree or GED Familiar with basic sterile technique in order to function within a sterile environment 1-2 years experience Hospital experience or exposure to patients in other health care settingsJob Overview:
The Perioperative Assistant for the Operating Room reports to the Chief Surgical Asistant- GSH, Nurse Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
Safely and promptly transports patients using stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs. Performs supply, equipment, and environmental tasks, including stocking, maintaining PAR levels, completing quality checks, and reporting issues or equipment malfunctions. Maintains a safe and clean environment by following infection control policies, reporting hazards, and assisting housekeeping with room preparation. Supports patient flow by completing clerical tasks, communicating patient information, and updating the RN on completed duties. Assists with positioning, prepping, and discharging patients under RN direction while performing tasks within trained competency. In Same Day Surgery, assists with dressing/undressing, lifting/turning, clipping patients, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, performing accuchecks, documenting in the EMR, toileting, and escorting patients to their vehicle.Working Conditions:
