  • Surgical and MedicalFull job description Clinical Assistant or Gap Year Student This position is ideal for: A college graduate or gap year student who is preparing for medical school or physician assistant school and wants to gain clinical experience for one to two years in a fast paced, fun, versatile dermatology clinic and see a good mix of skin pathologies, skin surgery and cosmetic procedures (advanced lasers, microneedling, PRP, Botox, fillers, chemical peels).
Required Qualifications:
Previous clinic experience preferred Reliable transportation and punctuality Willing to commit to a one year contract Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask Work in a fast paced clinic with focus on teamwork Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
After a training period the candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure efficient operation of the dermatology clinic. You will support the dermatologist through a variety of tasks related to patient care, organization and communication. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in an efficient manner. Room patients for intake, create visit notes, and document complete medical intake, medication history, quality measures in EMA EHR Set-up skin surgery trays, assist during excisions and Mohs surgery and wound closures Counsel patient with after care and medication instructions Discharge patients and complete visit note in EMA EHR for doctor to sign Turn over exam rooms for the next patient
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand for extended periods and move efficiently in a surgical setting. Ability to lift and transport supplies up to 25 lbs. Ability to operate all necessary job-related office and medical equipment. Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
