In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and optimal clinical outcomes. Your expertise will support the delivery of high-quality oral surgery, implant placements, and other advanced periodontal treatments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a relaxed environment where your skills directly impact patient health and satisfaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about advancing their career in dental surgery. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during oral surgery procedures, including extractions, implants, and other complex surgeries, by preparing and passing instruments efficiently. Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to strict infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans and Intra-oral scans to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning, ensuring high-quality medical imaging standards. Manage dental instrument processing, including cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing tools for safe reuse in accordance with infection control policies. Record detailed medical documentation, including vital signs, medical history updates, and procedural notes within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic. Assist with patient intake by taking vital signs and reviewing medical records while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times. Support the dental team with administrative duties like scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix for accurate documentation and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures related to oral surgery and prosthodontics. Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment. Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized fields like periodontics, and Oral surgery. Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment confidently while adhering to radiation safety standards. Familiarity with healthcare infection control protocols specific to dental clinics and pediatric dentistry settings.
