  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team!
In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and efficient workflow. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will contribute to delivering top-quality care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with all necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilization protocols following aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment. Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by handling instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring optimal visibility using medical imaging tools like X-ray and 3D scanners. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems such as Dentrix, including documenting procedures, vital signs, and medical history details. Support infection control practices by adhering to strict sterilization standards and maintaining proper disposal of contaminated materials. Provide pre

Collaborate with the dental team to streamline workflows using electronic medical documentation systems like Epic or Medical coding protocols for billing purposes. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating patience and understanding for young patients' needs. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and specialized fields such as Prosthodontics or Endodontics to support complex cases effectively. Ensure patient comfort by monitoring vital signs during sedation or anesthesia administration when applicable. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a surgical or general dentistry setting is required; prior exposure to oral surgery or specialty practices is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is advantageous. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes aligned with OSHA guidelines. Strong understanding of dental radiography including X-ray procedures and use of 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus; ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding enhances your ability to contribute seamlessly within the team environment. Certification in dental assisting (such as CDA or RDA) along with CPR certification is preferred; ongoing professional development in surgical dentistry is encouraged.
