Our practice is dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients, and we are seeking a talented individual who shares our commitment to excellence. We are a vision driven, start up Oral and Facial Surgery practice with a focus on digital work flow, equipped with intraoral scanner, 3D printer, Cone Beam CT scan, panoramic & digital x-rays and photogrammetry. Technical expertise and drive for learning and growing is a must.
Job Description:
As an Oral Surgery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our oral surgeon during surgical procedures and providing support to ensure the smooth operation of our practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting oral surgeon during surgical procedures, including preparing surgical instruments and equipment, passing instruments to the surgeon, and providing suction and retraction as needed. Set up anesthesia machines, equipment, and place monitors on patients Assist with anesthesia safety protocol during surgery Preparing treatment rooms for procedures by ensuring cleanliness and organization, sterilizing instruments, and stocking supplies. Providing patient care and support before, during, and after surgical procedures, including explaining pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. Assisting with patient intake and documentation, including recording medical histories, taking vital signs, and updating patient records. Performing administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and coordinating patient referrals. Maintaining compliance with infection control protocols and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff at all times. Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care. Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in oral surgery.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or training as a dental assistant or oral surgery assistant preferred. DAANCE certification is preferred (If not certified, you will be encouraged) We enourage
DANB, IV
certification, radiology certification, DAANCE certification, digital workflow certification, ACLS, BLS certification Previous experience working in a dental or oral surgery setting strongly preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Basic computer skills and proficiency with dental software programs preferred. Certification in CPR and basic life support preferred.
