Our state-of-the-art, QUAD A Accredited ambulatory surgery center is led by a double board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist or Certified First Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and takes pride in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. Position Summary The Surgical Technologist/First Assistant plays an essential role in ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures from patient preparation through postoperative turnover. This individual will work directly alongside the surgeon, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, and the surgical team to maintain the highest standards of sterile technique, patient safety, and operating room efficiency. Candidates with previous experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, or outpatient surgery centers are highly encouraged to apply. Primary ResponsibilitiesSurgical Assistance Prepare operating rooms prior to each procedure. Scrub and assist during cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures. Pass instruments, sutures, implants, and supplies efficiently. Anticipate surgeon needs throughout procedures. Assist with tissue handling, exposure, suctioning, retracting, and wound closure when within certification and scope of practice. Maintain an organized sterile field at all times. Ensure strict adherence to aseptic technique. Instrument & Equipment Management Prepare surgical instrument trays. Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality.
Operate surgical equipment including:
Electrocautery Liposuction equipment Power instruments Endoscopic equipment (if applicable) Surgical lighting Assist with troubleshooting equipment during procedures. Inventory & Supply Management Prepare patient-specific surgical bins prior to surgery. Maintain accurate counts of sterile supplies. Track implants, lot numbers, and expiration dates. Notify management of low inventory. Assist with receiving and organizing surgical supplies. Help maintain an organized sterile storage area. Sterile Processing Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments. Assemble instrument trays. Operate sterilization equipment. Perform biological monitoring and sterilization documentation. Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols. Operating Room Turnover Perform efficient room turnover between procedures. Prepare OR for the next scheduled case. Restock supplies and equipment. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of all procedure rooms. Patient Care Assist with patient positioning and safety. Apply sequential compression devices and positioning devices. Assist with patient transfers. Support patient privacy, dignity, and comfort. Collaborate with nursing staff throughout the perioperative process. QualificationsRequired Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or Certified First Assistant program. Current Surgical Technologist certification (preferred). BLS Certification. Strong understanding of sterile technique. Excellent communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical setting. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Strong attention to detail.
