Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and sterile environment. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional patient care through precise chairside assistance, effective infection control, and thorough medical documentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with skilled surgeons where your skills will directly impact patient outcomes and comfort. Duties Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing instruments, supplies, and anesthesia equipment with precision and efficiency. Maintain strict aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards throughout all procedures. Prepare patients for surgery by explaining procedures, positioning them comfortably, and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen levels. Manage the documentation of surgical records and ensure accurate documentation of procedures, medical history, and patient data while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support plastic surgery cases by creating a pleasant and comfortable environment for all patients and assisting with specialized plastic surgery procedures. Collaborate seamlessly in four-handed practices with the surgical team to optimize workflow and patient comfort. Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized according to infection control protocols and maintain inventory of supplies needed for surgical procedures. Experience Proven experience working as a Surgical Assistant in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center. Knowledge of general surgery, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is required to ensure safe procedures. Experience assisting with plastic surgery is highly preferred. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively support the surgical team and provide compassionate care to patients. $40.00 - $48.00 per hour
