The job consists of assisting with surgery, cutting and sorting fragile tissue for hair graft creation through microscopic dissection, placing tiny grafts into fine instruments, and re-implanting them back into the patient. It's a highly specialized procedure and fine motor skills for tedious tasks and the ability to sitting still are crucial. You don't need to know how to do these tasks; we will train you but if you aren't good with your hands and need to get up and move a lot, this job is not for you. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams in all aspects of the hair transplant procedures. This position requires a basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. The Surgical Technician/Medical Assistant will work closely with doctors, and other healthcare professionals in an outpatient clinic setting. Duties Assist with FUT and FUE surgery for hair transplantation Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during operations. Cutting/sorting/loading/placing human hair grafts (please see our IG account for short videos of the process @limmerhair) Ensure all surgical instruments are set up, accounted for, and working properly Maintain cleanliness and organization of the procedure room. Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent contamination. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care before, during, and after surgery. Participate in ongoing education to stay current with surgical techniques and best practices. Experience Previous experience as a Hair Transplant Technician is ideal but the skills can be obtained on the job. Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices is helpful. Experience in a dermatology office, cosmetic surgery or ambulatory surgery center is highly desirable. Ability to work on a tedious task and sit at a microscope while maintaining attention to detail is key. Phlebotomy experience is also helpful Our clinic is nationally known and our team of professionals are committed to providing exceptional patient care for patients suffering from hair loss.
