Perioperative Support Specialist Job Responsibilities:

Facilitates the transferring/positioning of patients in the operating room in addition to assisting with patient surgical preparation as requested and directed by the nursing staff. Prepares the operating room for cases by opening sterile supplies/instruments and maintaining awareness of aseptic technique. Reads and understands the OR schedule and preference cards to prepare for the next surgical encounter. Retrieves and delivers requested supplies and instruments to Operating Rooms to minimize the circulating nurse's time out of the room. Gathers and packs instruments and sterile supplies for scheduled and added cases to provide efficient procedure set up of surgical cases. Checks and validates case carts. Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Years of Experience:

2 years of Recent Hospital experience and/or previous surgical services experience.

Certification :

Basic Life Support via AHA within 3 months
