EXPERIENCED, LEAD

full-time (40 hours/week) assistant whose duties/skills will include:

• Lead the clinical team with knowledge and professionalism throughout the day
• Assist surgeon during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies, suctioning and helping to maintain patient airway at all times
• Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with patient positioning
• Recovering patients after anesthesia/procedures
• Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available, turning over rooms in a timely fashion in between surgeries
• Document surgical procedures in medical records, including patient information, procedure details, and any complications or observations
• Follow proper aseptic technique to prevent infections
• Taking and developing X-rays (X-ray certification required)
• Communicating with patients and family members regularly in person and via telephone daily
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times Welcome to Truitt Oral Surgery!

We are a small, independent Oral Surgery practice specializing in the removal of Impacted Teeth (including wisdom teeth), Dental Implants, Procedures necessary for Orthodontic Treatment, Pathology of the mouth and general tooth extractions. Dr. Truitt opened his practice in Mechanicsville, VA in 2012. Most of our patients go to sleep with general anesthesia, and we do between 4-6 procedures each day, as well as consultations and post-op appointments. Our assistants work as a team to ensure smooth and timely flow of work. Employees at Truitt Oral Surgery enjoy a regular Monday through Friday work week with hours beginning at 7:30am and rarely staying past 5:00pm, with Wednesdays and Fridays generally closing around 3:30pm. Since we are a small office, team members are treated like family. A strong work ethic and ability to do the job are rewarded. We pride ourselves in giving the best possible care for our patients, and each one is treated as an individual with unique needs.
