As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant , you'll join a team of talented individuals who are passionate about what they do and committed to providing exceptional care. Every instrument you prepare and reassurance you give will play a vital role in the success of each surgery and the comfort of every patient through life-changing treatments.
What You'll Do:
Provide patient care with empathy before, during, and after procedures. Assist surgeon with evaluations, surgeries, and post-op visits. Take digital x-rays and models. Document patient charts accurately during evaluations, surgical procedures, and post-op appointments. Prepare surgical trays, and evaluation and surgical rooms for procedures. Maintain sterilization of instruments, laboratories, and treatment rooms. Complete clinical and pharmacy logs according to practice standard.
What You'll Need:
One (1) year of dental assisting or surgery technical experience required; oral and maxillofacial surgery experience, preferred. Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles, required. Understanding of HIPAA, required. Radiology certification, required. CPR certification, preferred. Familiar with anatomy and medical and dental terminology pertaining to oral surgery. Exceptional customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
What It Takes:
Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to assist with sedated patients. Prolonged periods of standing and bending.
