Dental Assistant/Surgical Assistant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and oral health evaluations. Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing procedures to maintain optimal oral hygiene. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Document patient treatments and progress accurately in the electronic health record system (Eaglesoft). Review documentation to ensure compliance with dental regulations and standards. Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures as needed, providing compassionate care to younger patients. Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Stay updated on medical terminology, dental terminology, and advancements in dental hygiene practices. Experience A valid Dental Hygienist license is required. Experience in a dental clinic or office setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review is a plus. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry is essential. Previous experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable but not mandatory.
