JOB OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for assisting with expedient and professional care and throughput to include escort, transport, exam/room preparation, patient education, department paperwork, coding/charging, supplies stocking/ordering, and assisting technologists or physicians as required.
AREA OF ASSIGNMENT
Radiology Services, Inpatient and Outpatient
RESPONSIBLE TO
Modality Leads, Radiology Director/Manager
PREREQUISITES
1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. 2. Must successfully complete Worksteps Evaluation. 3. Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers. (Current employees as of 9/1/16 have until 9/1/17 to obtain AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.)
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills in a diverse population. Neat and well groomed in appearance. Experience working with computer/keyboard/data entry. Demonstrates excellent customer services skills, including phone demeanor. Demonstrates ability to maintain and convey a positive team concept. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally. Ability to distinguish colors. Obtain Washington State registration for Nursing Assistant within 90 days of employment.
UNIQUE PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT, AND WORKING CONDITIONS
: Requires working as part of a team at the direction of the Director or Manager, lead, and staff technologists to ensure efficient patient flow throughout radiology services. Requires handling and lifting patients and equipment, standing or walking swiftly 80% of the day, reaching overhead, climbing step stools, and bending. Requires the ability to effectively communicate with staff, physicians, and patients. Requires working under changing conditions depending on the schedules of the departments. Includes the potential for exposure to body fluids and other conditions common to hospitals. Requires transporting patients via wheelchair and stretcher throughout the facility.

Unique Job Functions:
Transport/escort patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, along with all support equipment necessary, i.e., IV pumps, oxygen tanks. Utilizes IV tote safety devices on stretchers and/or obtains appropriate help in difficult transports. Answers phones courteously. Enter charge data/orders in HIS/RIS. Assist technologists as required. Be available via pager, prompt response expected. Responsible for darkroom/multiloader/laser procedures, i.e., fill multiloader/laser magazines, film bins. Perform routine, regular inspections of PACS /laser interface and printer queues. Load injectors as needed. Load films on alternator as requested. Perform regular stocking of supplies and linen. Assist in safety inspections, and cleaning work areas and equipment. Other related duties as assigned
