Job Description

Growing state of the art Oral Surgery Practice with easy commute by highway exit, one location one doctor, looking for and Oral Surgery Assistant. Experience in an oral surgery preferred. Part time / full time positions. Competitive benefit package. The candidate must be detail oriented, a team player and have a positive attitude that facilitates growth. Responsibilities might include, but not limited to:
  • Assist oral maxillofacial surgeon in provision of dental care to patients.
  • As needed, perform administrative tasks such as patient check in, post op call, appointment scheduling, charting, sending prescriptions.
  • Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment as per protocol.
  • Prepare surgical rooms before and after patient care and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
  • Assist with all patient procedures including surgical room setup and cleanup among others.
  • Sterilization of instruments.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitoring vital signs before, during and after procedures.
  • As needed, Provide patients with information on oral health care, treatment plans, and postoperative instructions/translation.
  • As needed, Monitor stock of surgical supplies and medication and assist to order , as needed.
  • Ensure that instruments and equipment are effectively run and maintained following all standard protocols.
  • Strictly adhere to HIPAA standards in the protection of patient personal information
  • Follow
WISHA/ OSHA
standards and other local body rules/office policies and regulations
  • As needed, help with front desk tasks such as treatment plan presentation, insurance verification, answering phone calls, checking in and out etc
