1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with Neuro/Spine experience for a day shift OR position at a comprehensive hospital in Birmingham, AL. Details Position is based in the Main OR of a 595-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Birmingham, AL Neuro/Spine surgical specialty with additional experience in Ortho and Vascular preferred Day shift schedule running 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM 1:1 patient ratio in a 24-bed surgical unit On-call requirements on weekends, distributed evenly by the unit coordinator EMR system is Cerner 13-week contract Requirements Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro/Spine surgical technologist experience required BLS certification required — must be from the American Heart Association (AHA); American Red Cross not accepted Proficiency with standard OR equipment License required if applicable SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Experience with robotic (Da Vinci) surgery and maxillofacial procedures is preferred Scrub color required is ceil blue or royal blue Fleece, hooded garments, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and nail polish are not permitted Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted All certifications must be AHA-issued and must not be expired or expiring within 30 days of the start date The facility is a recognized center of excellence for stroke care, cardiovascular services, bariatrics, and surgical care, including minimally invasive procedures
