Role:

The GI Lab Scrub Tech plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of gastrointestinal procedures by providing essential support to the medical team. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a GI lab or similar surgical environment. Completion of a surgical technology program or equivalent experience. Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) or eligibility to obtain certification. Knowledge of gastrointestinal procedures and related equipment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare the GI lab by ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use. Assist the medical team during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field. Monitor and manage inventory of surgical supplies, ensuring that all materials are stocked and available. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Document and report any issues or concerns regarding equipment or procedures to the appropriate personnel.
