The Surgical Technician plays a vital role in supporting surgeons, nurses, and patients throughout operative procedures by preparing sterile environments, assisting during surgery, and ensuring patient safety at all times.
Our surgery center specializes in a wide range of procedures including General Surgery, Breast Surgery, GI, Ocular Plastics, Ophthalmology, Colorectal, Orthopedics, Pain Management, OHNS (ENT), and Plastic Surgery. The ideal candidate is experienced in surgical scrub techniques across multiple specialties, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention and patient care. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and sterile equipment for procedures Maintain sterile technique and support infection control standards throughout surgeries Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments and supplies Prepare and handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and preoperative preparation Participate in surgical counts according to established policies and procedures Monitor equipment and supplies to ensure readiness and proper function Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and maintaining organized inventory Identify and report breaks in aseptic technique or unsafe conditions Support quality improvement, safety initiatives, and emergency procedures Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other team members Help orient and train new staff members as needed Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Minimum 3-5 years of surgical scrub experience in a clinical or ambulatory surgery setting Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Preferred Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical procedures Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment Strong communication and teamwork abilities Professional demeanor and commitment to patient safety Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Frequent walking, lifting, bending, and reaching Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed Benefits Competitive pay Supportive team environment Opportunities for professional growth and development Health and wellness benefits (if applicable) Paid time off and holiday benefits (if applicable) Schedule Full-time Day shift Monday to Friday No weekends (if applicable)
