1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and proficiency in Ophthalmology, Ortho, Neuro, and Robotics for a hospital surgical services position in California. Details Hospital surgical services unit (OR) with a focus on the scrub person role Surgical specialties include Ophthalmology (Cataract and Vitrectomy), Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Robotics Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts; shifts run either 7:00-17:30 or 11:00-21:30 Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) required, with variable weekday assignments On-call shifts are required 13-week contract Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital experience in a surgical technologist role Prior travel experience required Proficiency in Ophthalmology (Cataract and Vitrectomy) required Experience in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Robotics required Documented competency to scrub major procedures in at least three surgical specialties BLS certification (Healthcare Provider level)

credential CA license required if applicable HS diploma or equivalent; diploma from an accredited surgical technology program preferred Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates Additional Information Performs preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative duties under the supervision of an RN Serves as technical subject matter expert for at least one surgical specialty, including mentoring staff rotating through that service Responsible for specimen management on the sterile field and communication of accurate information to the circulating nurse Handles and labels medications on the sterile field under the direct supervision of the RN circulator and surgeon Assists with OR sanitation, instrument processing, and autoclave/steris unit operation Supports orientation of new employees and contributes to ongoing education and in-services Only one holiday RTO request will be approved during the assignment Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year to be considered as a traveler Two supervisor references obtained within the past year are required for consideration First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
