The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting surgeons and operating room staff during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining sterile environments. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital setting, supporting various surgical specialties including trauma, pediatrics, and critical care. The Certified Surgical Technician will be responsible for preparing operating rooms, handling surgical instruments, and providing essential patient care support throughout the perioperative process. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, infection control protocols, and medical terminology to excel in this role. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for surgical procedures. Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgeries by passing instruments, suturing, and managing surgical equipment with precision. Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety throughout procedures. Monitor vital signs and patient condition before, during, and after surgery to support optimal outcomes. Collect data related to surgical procedures and patient responses for documentation and analysis purposes. Support patient care activities including positioning patients on operating tables and assisting with anesthesia preparation when needed. Adhere to infection control policies and protocols specific to hospital medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), PICU, ICU, and ambulatory surgery centers. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine settings or critical care units. Experience Proven experience as a Surgical Technician in hospital environments with exposure to Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in OR experience, including suturing, anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and sterile technique application. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and hospital medicine protocols essential for maintaining safety standards. Prior experience in ambulatory surgery centers or outpatient surgical settings is advantageous.
