Charge Nurse:

Lead ST Qualifications Current CPR certification required. (American Heart Association only) Previous Surgical Technician in an acute care setting is preferred. Six months operating room experience with a completion of formal Surgical Tech Training Programs preferred. Completion of Terminology Course preferred. Surgical Tech Certification (CST) preferred. Surgical Tech in the

GI Lab:

One year experience preferred.

Job Overview:

• The Surgical Technician performs scrub duties which include aseptic technique within the guidelines of Cal Med Surgery Center's policies and procedures under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and the indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager/ OR Charge/ ST lead.

This position requires full understanding and active participation in the expansion of Cal Med Surgery Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support Cal Med Surgery Center's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement process and activities and always ensure safe patient care within the peri-op unit. Also will ensure that proper patient identification, time outs, resources, and supplies are available to maintain a safe environment.
