As a vital member of the surgical team, you will prepare operating rooms, assist during surgeries, and ensure strict adherence to infection control and aseptic techniques. Your role is essential in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate surgical care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills and clinical knowledge in an ambulatory surgery center setting, contributing to service excellence, safe procedures and patient recovery. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly before procedures begin. Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgeries by preparing and passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with proficiency and precision. Maintain strict aseptic techniques throughout all phases of surgery to prevent infection and ensure patient safety with transparency and report any breach in procotol. Collect and document data related to surgical procedures, patient responses, and intraoperative observations accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or other medical records platforms. Support OR teams by preparing medications on the sterile field and or assisting with airway management when necessary. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and hospital policies related to sterile technique and patient safety standards. Assist with patient care before and after surgery by helping with positioning, transfers, and post-operative assessments. Coordinate sterilization process and procedure per protocol and IFU.. Participate in ongoing training on anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and analysis skills to stay current with evolving surgical practices. Inventory ordering, restocking and monthly count. Requirements Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist in hospital medicine or ambulatory surgery centers preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with OR experience including suturing techniques and sterile procedures. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic technique. Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly preferred; familiarity with emergency medicine protocols is a plus. . Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous. Skilled in data collection, analysis skills for intraoperative monitoring, vital signs assessment, and medical record documentation using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in acute care environments while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety standards. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
