POSITION DESCRIPTION
Natividad is currently seeking to fill one (1) full-time Surgical Technician position in the Surgical Services Department. Under general supervision, the Surgical Technician is to assist Surgeons and Nurses in specialized patient care and treatment in the operating room; and to do related work as required. THE SIGNIFICANT DUTIES OF THE POSITION
Scrubs for operations Participates in setting up operating room prior to surgery making sure to adapt procedures to meet individual needs of pediatric, adolescent, adults, and geriatric patients for treatment and pulling appropriate instruments and/or trays Ensures that aseptic technique is followed when opening sterile supplies and setting up for procedures Assists in the positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for surgical procedures and with turnover in operating room Hands sterile instruments and surgical supplies to the surgeon during an operation Completes operating room counts and follows proper procedure in the event of incorrect counts Checks all equipment/instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning Inventory and order supplies as needed. Maintain par levels for individual service lines Examples of Experience/Education/Training

EXAMPLES OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING
Any combination of training, education and/or experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities and required conditions of employment listed above is qualifying. An example of a way these requirements might be acquired is: One year of training and experience as a Surgical Technician in an operating room of an acute care hospital Certification as a Surgical Technician is highly desirable Additional Information
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Natividad requires that all incumbents pass a pre-employment physical/medical assessment. Natividad will conduct a thorough background and reference check process which includes a Department of Justice fingerprint check. Employees who drive on County business to carry out job related duties must possess a valid Driver License for the class vehicle driven or have the ability to provide suitable transportation that is approved by the appointing authority. Employees must have and show their original Social Security Card and a valid Driver License or State ID prior to the first day of work (Social Security Card is required for payroll purposes only). Incumbents may be required to work all shifts, including irregular hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency, on-call work as needed on a flexible schedule Incumbents may be required to work with potentially hazardous and infectious substances. Maintain a valid CPR certification Maintain the ability to arrive at work, while on-call, within thirty (30) minutes of receiving a notice of call-back •

Surgical Technician Per-Diem salary rate:
$44.705 - $61.058 per hour .
