GASTROENTEROLOGY

Maintains, assembles and repairs all equipment as necessary in a manner that is safe and consistent with infection control guidelines.
Calibrates equipment and understands procedures for all treatment and tests performed.
Participates in inventory control by conducting hospital rounds to distribute and collect used supplies and ordering additional supplies as needed .
Prepares for and assists physicians in a variety of gastrointestinal tests and procedures.
Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.

Maintain all equipment used during endoscopy procedures as needed, including inspection, sterilization, and repairs.

Performs general clerical tasks, such as answering phones; updating patient appointments; or retrieving, entering, and revising patient electronic health records (EHR).
Prepares and completes accurate documentation related to patient, including all procedures performed, in medical and departmental records as required. SAFETY
Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each procedure and maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures.
Inspects and calibrates equipment accordingly for proper operation and records the quality control (QC) results, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.

Maintains strictest confidence of all patient protected health information (PHI) and protects all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure.
Performs quality care in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulatory agencies to deliver the highest level of patient privacy and care.
