8 Weeks (Temp-to-Hire) Job Overview A leading acute care hospital in Flushing, NY is seeking an experienced Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) for an 8-week travel assignment supporting Surgical Services and Central Sterile Processing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with surgical instrumentation, sterilization procedures, and central sterile processing workflows in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role requires excellent technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to support high-volume surgical operations efficiently. Key Responsibilities Prepare, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment Operate autoclaves and gas sterilization systems following safety protocols Support operating room and central sterile processing workflows Perform decontamination, assembly, inspection, and packaging of surgical instruments Ensure compliance with infection prevention and sterilization standards Assist surgical teams with instrument readiness and supply management Maintain inventory control and organize surgical equipment and supplies Safely handle heavy equipment, carts, and instrument trays Maintain accurate sterilization and processing documentation Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of Central Processing experience required High School Diploma or equivalent required Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, autoclaves, and gas sterilizers required Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment Physical ability to lift, pull, and push heavy equipment as needed Certifications Required CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) Certification required Central Service Technician Certification required Preferred Qualifications Certified Surgical Technologist course completion preferred On-the-job Surgical Tech training experience accepted Minimum 3 years of Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred Prior experience in high-volume acute care hospital settings preferred For more details contact at or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
