We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team in our new Bear, Delaware location. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in surgical procedures, patient care, and sterile techniques, with experience in diverse clinical settings. As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for providing support to the surgeon during operative procedures through passing instruments and maintaining the sterile field. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for anticipating the surgeon's needs, having a clear understanding of the instruments and the usage of each instrument. Key Responsibilities Maintains proficiency and knowledge of surgeon's needs, techniques, and requirements at all times in the scrub or CSR role Processes and cares for specimens and cultures as directed by set policies Possesses knowledge of anesthetic agents, techniques, actions and interactions Delivers care according to established organizational goals and objectives Maintains surgical instruments in good working condition Processes and sterilizes instruments and equipment according to manufacturers' and AMII recommendations Replenish sterile supplies as needed Assists in ordering supplies, maintaining inventories, and storing supplies appropriately. Perform other duties or projects as needed Required Education and Experience High School Education/Diploma Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist School Previous Operating Room experience (at least one year) Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians and other health care workers Preferred Education and Experience Current BLS Certification Work Hours Monday through Friday No weekends, holidays, or on-call Typical OR shift will be 7:00am-3:30pm Occasional need for 8:30am-5:00pm This role is assigned to our Bear, Delaware location American Surgery Center (ASC) , a member of the United Medical family, is a multi-specialty surgery center focused on providing quality outpatient and same-day surgery for a variety of specialties.
