Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)•Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with strong Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience to support complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in maintaining sterile technique, preparing surgical instrumentation, and assisting surgeons during advanced cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Cardiovascular Operating Room equipment and instrumentation Requirements Active Surgical Technologist Certification Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience preferred Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures Expertise in sterile technique and surgical instrumentation Ability to work independently in a high-acuity surgical setting Excellent communication and teamwork skills Typical Procedures Performed Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR) Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR) Thoracotomy Procedures ECMO Cannulation and Support Pacemaker Insertions Tracheostomy Procedures MAZE Procedures Other complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries Responsibilities Prepare and maintain sterile fields during cardiovascular surgical procedures Set up and manage specialized CVOR instrumentation and equipment Anticipate surgeon needs during complex cardiac and thoracic cases Ensure compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards Handle surgical specimens according to facility protocols Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff Call Requirements Weekend call coverage: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday•24-hour call coverage Weekday call coverage: On-call after 3:00 PM Monday through Friday Additional Preferences Previous travel experience preferred Ability to adapt quickly to changing surgical environments Strong independent decision-making skills Flexibility to provide coverage across multiple facilities Facility Coverage The selected traveler may provide CVOR coverage at: Mercy Hospital Kendall Hospital Aventura Hospital Additional Information High-acuity cardiovascular surgical environment Opportunity to work with advanced cardiac surgery teams Exposure to a wide variety of complex cardiovascular procedures Collaborative and fast-paced operating room setting
