Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Job DescriptionJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the operating room (OR) by assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of infection control, physiology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, Duties Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety.

Assist in the preparation of surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring all necessary tools are available and functioning properly.

Monitor vital signs and assist with data collection during surgeries.

Collaborate with surgical teams to analyze patient needs and respond effectively during operations.

Implement infection control protocols to minimize risks associated with surgical procedures.

Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for documentation and patient management.

Provide support in pediatric surgeries, demonstrating knowledge of specific requirements for this demographic.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the operating room before, during, and after procedures. Requirements Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is preferred but not required.

Strong knowledge of infection control practices and physiology.

Experience working in an OR setting, preferably within a Level II trauma center or ICU environment.

Proficient in monitoring vital signs and performing data collection accurately.

Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is preferred.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
