Full Job Description Location:
St Petersburg, Florida Hours:
Monday-Friday 9:00 to 5:00 (Thursday 10:00 to 6:00) Surgery center in St Petersburg is looking for a Certified Scrub Tech with ASC and 4 years experience to work with our plastic surgeons in the operating room and in the clinic on non surgery days. We are an AAAASF accredited office-based surgery center. Ideally, this person has previous experience working in a plastic and cosmetic surgery facility.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing the operating room for surgery, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
  • Set up surgical instruments and equipment according to the surgeon's preferences
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures and provide necessary instruments and supplies in a timely manner
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure to minimize the risk of infection
  • Assist the surgeon during surgery by passing instruments, holding retractors as directed
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and communicate any changes or concerns to the surgical team
  • Collect and document data related to patient care, such as surgical counts and specimens
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe operating environment
  • Cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments
  • Cleaning and sterilization of operating room post surgery
Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years previous experience as a Certified Surgical Technician in ASC environment
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment
  • Familiarity with infection control practices in a healthcare setting
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team
  • Knowledge of patient care principles and practices
  • Understanding of human anatomy and physiology
  • Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center is a plus
  • Valid Surgical Technologist certification
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (such as Nextech) for data collection is preferred
Pay:
  • hourly rate $26 to $30 depending on experience
