Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a valued position where your nursing and surgical technology expertise will make a direct impact in a dynamic healthcare environment. This contract opportunity is designed for professionals with experience in the Operating Room Technician (ORT) role and those with surgical technology skills, even if non-certified. You'll become an integral member of a surgical team, supporting physicians and nurses in delivering safe, high-quality patient care during operative procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain sterile fields in the operating room Assist surgical staff with instruments and supplies throughout surgical procedures Ensure counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies before and after procedures Maintain a clean and organized operating area at all times Monitor and ensure adherence to infection control protocols Support the surgical team in anticipating needs and troubleshooting issues as they arise Demonstrate a proactive attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in OR settings as a nursing professional or surgical technologist Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and effective during high-pressure situations Willingness to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team Adaptable and eager to follow hospital and departmental procedures
