Job Description

New, state of the art surgery center seeking a Full Time Surgical Technologist for weekdays only , NO call, NO holidays and very competitive salary rates. We are seeking an energetic, motivated professional who wishes to help create and share in its growth and success. In a team, environment where the entire staff works closely to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients, you will be part of a new and exciting opportunity to grow an elite advanced surgery center. The successful candidate will assist in the care of our orthopedic, podiatric, pain and neurosurgery ambulatory patients. Assists the surgeon by providing the appropriate instruments and equipment for procedures in a single operating room while maintaining the sterile field.

Demonstrates basic operating room technical skills Working knowledge of specific uses of all needed equipment and supplies Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient; Inspects, properly cares for and handles surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately. Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and policies and procedures. Anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during the surgical procedure. Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively. Establishes and protects the integrity of the sterile field and back table at all times. Adheres to principles of asepsis. Recognizes breaks in technique by self and others. Takes corrective action and reports events to RN in room Performs efficient transitioning of supplies, instruments and equipment from one patient to the next in collaboration with the surgical team. Assists registered nurse with patient preparation and transfer to recovery room. Prepares instrumentation and equipment for decontamination per established protocol Handles specimens according to procedures. •Stocks operating room to par levels. Checks specialty items and reports shortages to appropriate individual. Qualifications Required Must be a graduate from an accredited Certified Surgical Technician program or equivalent Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association National certification through the Association of Surgical Technologists is required. If applicant does not possess certification at time of hire, must obtain it within 18 months of hire date Minimum of 1 year of recent OR experience
