40 hours/week Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13‑week travel assignment in Rockford, IL. The CST will scrub independently for a wide range of surgical specialties, ensuring sterile technique and supporting optimal patient outcomes in a busy acute care operating room. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency across multiple specialties and be comfortable working overnight shifts. Requirements Minimum 2+ years of recent CST experience OR Tech proficiency in most specialties, including: Orthopedics/Podiatry Robotics Spine/Neuro Gynecology General Surgery Plastics Urology/Cysto ENT Vascular (AAA, Aorto‑Femoral bypass, A‑V shunts, etc.) Must be able to scrub independently Facility has a CV team, so open heart cases are not required Certifications Current BLS certification (AHA required) Active NBSTSA certification Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms and maintain sterile environments Handle and assemble surgical instruments and trays Scrub independently for surgical procedures across multiple specialties Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers to ensure safe patient care Apply sterile technique and infection control standards Document surgical processes accurately in EMR systems Work Environment Short‑term acute care hospital setting Requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work under pressure Team‑oriented environment with interdisciplinary collaboration
