$2350•$2400 weekly gross pay Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized technical support during cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and success of complex procedures. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in operating room environments, particularly within Level I and Level II trauma centers, and demonstrate proficiency in handling advanced medical equipment and sterile techniques. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, high-stakes setting. Duties Prepare the operating room by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies specific to cardiovascular procedures. Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies with precision and timeliness. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety throughout surgical interventions. Monitor vital signs and physiological data during procedures, providing critical information to the surgical team. Manage and operate complex medical equipment such as endoscopy systems, EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems like Epic, and other hospital-specific technology. Support data collection efforts related to surgical outcomes, procedural metrics, and patient responses for quality improvement initiatives. Assist with treatment of fractures, trauma care protocols, and emergency interventions as needed within trauma or acute care settings. Ensure proper sterilization of medical equipment and surgical instruments according to infection prevention standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiologists, nurses, and physicians to optimize patient outcomes. Maintain comprehensive documentation of surgical procedures within medical records systems in compliance with hospital policies. Requirements Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist with a focus on cardiovascular surgery; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in handling surgical instruments such as suturing tools and specialized cardiovascular devices. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, trauma care procedures, and treatment of fractures. Familiarity with hospital medicine, emergency medicine protocols, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and medical-surgical environments. Hands-on experience with medical equipment sterilization processes and infection control practices. Competence in operating medical equipment such as endoscopy systems and EMR/EHR systems like Epic. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to critical care or trauma are advantageous. Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for data collection and patient monitoring. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in high-stakes situations while maintaining focus on patient safety.
