1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist with CVOR experience and a strong foundation in sterile technique for a hospital OR position in Urbana, IL. Details Hospital operating room setting with assignment to the CVOR team Day shift schedule: 4x10s, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, with one day off TBD On-call required, including weekend and holiday on-call rotation May float to the General OR when CV caseload is low 40 hours per week Requirements Minimum 1 year of surgical tech experience required CVOR experience required Level 1 trauma experience preferred Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of Completion of a Surgical Technology program required BLS certification from the American Heart Association required IDPH Fingerprinting required Epic EMR experience required Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures Applied knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology Familiarity with electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers as applied to surgical patient care License required if applicable Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Additional Information Apply principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment throughout surgical setup and procedures Assist with obtaining and organizing supplies, equipment, and positioning devices, including patient positioning Perform sterilization and disinfection of surgical instrumentation and document loads per policy Participate in room turnover and setup efficiently between cases Maintain and clean equipment and identify items needing repair per policy Charge for equipment and supplies used during procedures Scrubbing duties may include precepting medical students, residents, and other students Candidates are selected through a facility leader interview process RTO is not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the contract Candidates who have been on assignment at this facility system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the health system
