Shift:
6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our Surgical Services team. The Surgical Technologist assists the surgical team in delivering safe, high-quality patient care during the intraoperative period. This role focuses on preparing and maintaining sterile instrumentation and equipment, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring adherence to aseptic standards throughout the surgical process. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in urgent or emergency situations. Experience supporting a wide range of surgical procedures and patient populations—from neonates to geriatrics—is essential. Key Responsibilities Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment for operative procedures. Assist surgeons and other members of the surgical team during procedures. Demonstrate and maintain strict aseptic technique to ensure positive patient outcomes. Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to established policies and procedures. Ensure proper care, preparation, handling, and maintenance of surgical instrumentation and equipment. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures. Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations in the operating room. Adhere to professional standards of surgical practice and patient safety guidelines. Apply knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, sterile technique, and the metric system in daily practice. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals. Support patient care needs while maintaining a safe and efficient surgical environment. Required Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of recent Surgical Technologist experience required. Certifications Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Required Skills Surgical Instrumentation Preparation Surgical Equipment Handling Intraoperative Surgical Assistance Aseptic and Sterile Technique Medical Terminology Patient Care Support Knowledge of Surgical Procedures and Specialties Surgical Counts (Sponges, Sharps, Instruments) Problem Solving and Critical Thinking Planning and Prioritization Emergency Response Awareness Team Collaboration Additional Requirements Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing surgical priorities and patient needs. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Willingness to participate in scheduled call rotation. Preferred Qualifications Experience in multiple surgical specialties. Previous hospital-based operating room experience. Strong knowledge of instrumentation, sterilization processes, and surgical workflow.
Pay:
$36.00 - $38.00 per hour Application Question(s): High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of two (2) years of recent Surgical Technologist experience required.
