1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) with strong orthopedic experience and a minimum of 2 years of recent OR first assist experience for a 13-week hospital assignment. Details Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, on a rotating 36/48-hour schedule (alternating weeks of 3x12 and 4x12 hours) OR setting with a focus on orthopedic, endoscopy, general, and ENT cases Call rotation required, plus every 6th or 7th weekend Floating required within scope of practice Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated Must work either a major or minor holiday each holiday period Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an OR First Assistant Current, active first assist (FA) experience required Strong orthopedic surgical experience required; experience in endoscopy, general, and ENT cases also required AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Active compact or state license required (license required if applicable) Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position Two professional references required: one charge nurse or higher, and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last year Driver's license required, and address must match permanent address Middle name required (confirmation needed if none exists) Additional Information Serve as a surgical first assistant across orthopedic, endoscopy, general, and ENT procedures Orientation is offered on a bi-weekly basis Travelers who have worked in the system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; all RTO must be submitted upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; pairs will not be placed on the same shift or unit Any license hits or background check issues must be disclosed upfront
