We'll teach you the craft of surgical instrument repair—no prior instrument repair experience required. Why this role stands out Entry-level with full training provided. Remote, customer-facing position; must live in Pennsylvania (PA) to cover the assigned territory. Hands-on, mobile work in a box truck-based repair lab with frequent hospital interactions. Key responsibilities Restore and maintain surgical instruments: buff/polish, straighten/bend, sharpen, repair hinges and serrations, and perform brazing; verify ultrasonic function with attention to metallurgy.
Carry out intermediate tasks:
advanced Dremel operations, Re-cup and Re-jaw, and laparoscopic instrument inspection. Capture accurate service details and invoicing per business needs. Rotate across facilities within your territory, adjusting to Customer demand and staffing levels. Follow DOT, company, and Customer protocols to operate the mobile lab safely; wear PPE and complete required site safety observations. What you bring High school diploma or GED. 2+ years total work experience with at least 1 year relevant, or 1 year at STERIS (verifiable). Military experience, competitive equipment training, or related technical/mechanical certifications may count toward this. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs; push carts from 10-150 lbs. Willingness to work early/late hours and occasional nights/weekends. Age 21+; able to meet and maintain FMCSA and driver's license requirements. Pass a DOT medical/physical and adhere to all DOT rules. Competency operating a DOT-regulated vehicle and conducting basic box truck safety checks. Valid driver's license, acceptable MVR (no CDL required), and ability to maintain required vaccines.
