Required Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the Surgical Services team at Norton Hospital. The Surgical Technician assists surgeons, registered nurses, and other members of the surgical team during operative procedures by ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with spine and vascular surgeries , demonstrate exceptional aseptic technique, maintain surgical instrumentation, and provide critical intra-operative support. This position requires the ability to anticipate surgical team needs, respond effectively during urgent situations, and provide high-quality patient care for patients ranging from neonates through geriatrics. Key Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by organizing instruments, supplies, and sterile equipment. Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques throughout all surgical procedures. Assist surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently during surgery. Prepare, inspect, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation before, during, and after procedures. Perform accurate sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to hospital policy. Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure efficient workflow throughout surgical procedures. Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery while maintaining patient safety. Support surgical procedures involving spine and vascular specialties . Ensure proper cleaning, handling, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment. Recognize and respond appropriately during emergency or urgent surgical situations. Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, instrumentation, and the metric system. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and the interdisciplinary surgical team. Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies. Provide age-appropriate care for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Required Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED. Experience Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience . Recent experience in an acute care hospital operating room. Required experience in Spine and Vascular surgeries. Certifications Certified Surgical Technologist ( CST )

Hold active CST and BLS certifications . Have strong Spine and Vascular surgical experience . Be highly organized and able to anticipate surgeon needs. Demonstrate excellent sterile technique and patient safety practices. Thrive in a fast-paced operating room environment. Work effectively under pressure during complex and emergency surgical procedures.
