Silver Spring Position Purpose Performs patient care duties delegated by the RN related to patients' personal needs, comfort, and safety. Scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrate competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, and equipment related to surgical intervention. As a "Certified Surgical Technician" you will: Facilitates rapid cleaning and preparation of the operating room by assisting environmental services with cleaning. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are available before starting a case. Gathers any missing supplies or equipment before scrubbing. Assists circulating nurse in preparing the OR for a procedure. Consistently, accurately, and promptly transmits accurate information regarding reports, patient data, patient requests, or other pertinent information to appropriate healthcare team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current certification as surgical technologist (CST) required. Completion of an approved technologist program or previous technologist experience of at least one year. Current BLS certification High school diploma or equivalent required, Successful completion of adult basic education evaluations for math and reading Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language Visual accuracy Auditory acuity Basic computer skills, to include data entry and retrieval Ability to coordinate eyes and hands quickly and accurately Ability to identify and distinguish color, temperature, texture, and size Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds, as determined by the nature of the patient care unit. Must be able to push, pull, lift patients and equipment (e.g. beds, stretchers). Must be able to bend body downward at the waist and be able to kneel.
Pay Range:
$26.62 - $41.31 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
[FT/PT Benefit eligible Roles]:
•0.5 FTE (20 hours weekly) up to 1.0 FTE (40 hours weekly)
